ABOUT THE STAIR CLIMB
The Imperial Valley 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb event is a way for local firefighters and the community to come together to honor and remember the FDNY firefighters who selflessly gave their lives on September 11, 2001. Each Imperial Valley 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb participant pays tribute to an FDNY firefighter by climbing or walking the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center. Your individual tribute not only remembers the sacrifice of an FDNY firefighter, but symbolically completes their heroic journey to save others. Through firefighter, law enforcement and community participation, we ensure that each of the 343 firefighters is honored, and that the world knows that we will never forget.
Funds raised for this event benefit the Imperial Valley 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb Committee 501(c)(3) that provides charitable assistance to local firefighters and families in crisis and promotes scholarship opportunities for members of the community.
